In this session, we explore how AI can enhance STEM literacy by assisting educators in adapting complex scientific texts while preserving their essential meaning. Many students struggle with STEM readings not because they lack interest or ability, but because the linguistic form of science texts can obscure the underlying ideas. The purpose of this mini-lesson is to demonstrate how structured AI prompting can lower the linguistic barrier while preserving the scientific concepts that matter.

Lernziele

  • You will understand how to apply the 3P prompting framework (Prompt, Priming, Persona) to create effective AI-generated STEM educational materials
  • You will be able to distinguish between linguistic difficulty and conceptual difficulty in STEM texts and adapt materials accordingly
  • You will design tiered text progressions that maintain scientific accuracy while providing differentiated access points for diverse learners
  • You will implement the concept preservation diagnostic tool to evaluate AI-generated content for scientific accuracy and pedagogical appropriateness
  • You will create visual models and analogies using AI prompts to support student understanding of abstract scientific concepts
